  Lau is your typical girl-next-door
Singaporean who has taken the plunge to follow
her heart and pursue a career of her choice.Jasey started her working career with our National Carrier (SQ) when she was twenty. Eleven years of customer service and travel exposure later, she realized her affi nity for top-notch personalized customer service but she can’t help feeling that something was missing in this “stable” career. Having just gone on maternity leave from conceiving her daughter, she re-evaluated her career options and decided to explore her interests in the dermalogy and medical fi elds. She aptly left Singapore Airlines for a Pharmaceutical position where the exposure to cosmetic medicine made her realise that beauty was her true calling. In 2003, Jasey saw an opportunity in the Middle East and opened a Spa in the Sultanate of OMAN with her sister-in law. This women-only beauty spa, going by the name “Ayana”, is well known and thriving in MUSCAT. In 2005, she returned to Singapore to realized that the spa and beauty industry has evolved into a commercialize and competitive industry of over promising, hard selling, discounted packages to entice customers into long term commitments. One would think that starting a beauty business amidst the ongoing beauty wars of the “big boys” as ludicrous but Jasey’s passion to impart her “gift for healing faces” to people who really need and can benefit from it. Jasey believes that there is no short-cut to truly beautiful and healthy skin and disapproves of quick fixes and crash treatments that has flooded the market in lieu of their potentially long-term side effects (pre-mature ageing and dryness). She believes that “no two faces are the same” and customized (not necessary the most costly) treatments are essential to bring out the best results for every individual. She insists on the products that she has personally tested and insists on the highest standards of quality, effectiveness and safety. Jasey believes in educating and inculcating good habits to maintaining good and healthy skin. Her commitments to cleanliness and attention to fine detail are traits that she has lived with all her life as a “self-proclaimed” perfectionist. These characteristics have proven to be beneficial to Jasey as a beauty and face specialist. One of her clients joked, “Being a perfectionist may drive many people crazy but if I am having someone perform an AHA (Alpha Hydroxyl Acid) face treatment on me, I want someone who is a natural for details!” The personal attention that Jasey gives her clients is also one of her most treasured trademarks. |
